Ski bunnies...

...that ended up like roadkill, but we'll get to that part...

Dad and I flew out to Denver on the Friday night start of my spring break. Christopher and Emily did not know I was coming, too, so I suppose that was a surprise. :-) (Not nearly as dramatic of a surprise as dad and I had conjured up on the plane ride there, though.)

We spent Friday night at Christopher's apartment in Denver, and got up bright and early for the drive to Vail! So early, I think dad grabbed the wrong hat! (jk, dad!)

Dad got us a cute room at a resort, where we were able to check in early and suit up!

Oh, my brother...

Emily took a pic of Christopher and Dad in the beginning. Where am I, you wonder? Probably digging myself out of my twelfth snowy grave much farther up the mountain right about now...

They always let me catch back up, though! Very snowy out.

Crossing my fingers for good luck...and that I don't die. I needed it on the next run (see below).

Still feeling the effects of that one (got the knee brace to prove it). I am so happy that there was a perfect storm of embarrassing documentation that could take place. (I happened to fall right uphill from Emily who happened to have her camera out and happened to have it on taking pictures.) ::sigh::

I wasn't the only one who Emily caught! :-)

Me, dad, and Chris. You know how we roll.

We wandered through Vail Village until stumbling upon this wonderful Austrian restaurant, Pepi's Bar and Restaurant, full of authentic European cuisine. I would highly recommend it to anyone traveling to the Vail area.

Our server was fabulous; they do table-side flambee of so many meals on the menu, so of course we had to order a couple! Here, our server is preparing our dishes next to our table, but as you'll see, he trusted Emily and I to do the flambee-ing on our own!

BAM!

He's been there for over 12 years and is in the brochure...

As if we didn't have ENOUGH fires lit from our table, Dad insisted on us stuffing ourselves even more by indulging in banana's foster. (Don't ask me how my weight loss challenge went that week!)

I love dinners that go on and on and on...

Great company, great food. Couldn't ask for more.

After being beaten up by the mountain, it was time nurse our aching muscles.

Beautiful morning view before we left.

On our Sunday morning drive to the airport, we took a little detour to visit Red Rock's State Park. It was so beautiful. I wish we had actually been there longer to take it in more!

Crazy people working out crazy hard in a crazy way! It was the perfect setting, though, on a beautiful, large terrace, with the mountains on one side and beautiful view of Denver on the other.

As part of their crazy workout regime, they did relays where one person carried another person up and down the length of the terrace. Hi. Lar. Ious. I have to share this video, even though it doesn't completely capture what we witnessed.

There's that beautiful view.

After Red Rocks, we stopped for a delicious brunch at Steuben's, a fun and yummy stop! Again, another place I would definitely recommend!

Great trip! Can't wait to get together again! (my knee is arguing with that last statement...) :-)
