On Tuesday, Steven and I accompanied the infamous Need-for-Speed Hamilton to partake in his Indy Racing Experience at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The weather was beyond gorgeous, and dare I say almost chilly when we first got there around 10:00 that morning. It made for a beautiful couple hours for our first visit EVER to the IMS! Yes, I know, Steven and I should be shunned as hoosiers for never going to the IMS. I'm okay with that. :-)

We had to arrive a bit early so that Dad could have plenty of time suit up!

He was so cute!
They must have thought he was a bit skinnier than he really was because he needed a personal assistant to get into the suit. I guess the pros probably don't dress themselves either...
After suiting up, it was kind of like waiting in line for a roller coaster at an amusement park: The line moves pretty slow, and you have plenty of time for your excitement or nerves or both to build!
Keith stopped by for the fun, too!
Everything that you wear literally just gets passed down the line when your ride is over, so Dad had to test my temperamental pregnant stomach by sharing, "The person that wore this before me had bacon for breakfast!"

One last scratch... And he was already scolded for putting his visor down too early, so he won't make that mistake again!
We'll call Dad's car the "Big Kid Car" since that's where all the tall and...um...healthy gentlemen were placed. I'm sure Wade Cunningham appreciated having to drive all the big dudes around.
A short video of getting into the Big Kid Car. There is audio, but all you hear are the cars going around the track, so you're not missing anything!
He survived!! When asked how the ride was and if it was scary at all, he could only talk about how nervous he was that his helmet was going to fly off from the g-force! LOL!
It cracked us up that they take your souvenir photo while loading the next rider into the car. Luckily, Dad's successor was already strapped in as opposed to climbing in right behind him. I bet some of those pictures are entertaining!
I was going to go for a ride, too, but apparently there's some rule about how pregnant women can't get in a car that's going 200 mph. Whatever.
We had a great lunch at my Bazbeauz, my personal fav, after the ride. Again, great weather for our lunch outside on Mass Avenue! What a fun morning!
