December recap...

No, I am not pooped anymore, as many have been inquiring. :-) I am pooped from my pilates workout (thought I'd try something new this year!), but that's just temporary...

School finished out really well. I'm still thoroughly enjoying the kids, so much so that I think our team is spoiled! I'm sure karma will make its way around to us next year. :-) I think I've said this before, but the thing I love most about this year is that I can really take time to enjoy it, as opposed to survive it! I hope the second semester goes as smoothly as the first. Cross your fingers for us!

Our first couple days of break were spent Christmas shopping since we had not yet started (for the most part). The family extravaganza began on Tuesday. Here's the rundown...
Tuesday - Nice dinner out with Steven, Dad, and me during the icestorm. Hindsight--crab cakes may not be worth my life. Christopher and Emily drove in from Chicago, so all five of us stayed at our new home here in Noblesville!
Wednesday - Our immediate family Christmas, where Steven and I made a big breakfast for all of us, then we opened presents and went to the farm.
Thursday - Christmas at the farm! Three new additions this year to the family; exciting, right? (I know Isabel was actually born before Christmas in 2007, but I didn't see her that Christmas!) WARNING: the game Catch Phrase is not intended for 30 people. Play at your own risk!
Friday - I was a little down Friday morning because I knew we were going to Mom's grave. I felt "gone" from the farm, even before we left, so sorry if you talked to me and I wasn't myself!! There's something very soothing and peaceful about going to the grave, but there is still no escaping the reality of the situation. We came back to Indy that afternoon.
Saturday - Let the Curtis Christmases begin! Today was Steven's Dad's side of the family. Never a dull moment.
Sunday - Today was Steven's Mom's side of the family.
Monday - Finally a breather! We got to enjoy a more intimate setting with the Christmas celebration of Steven's immediate family...only 7.5 of us! :-)
Tuesday - I spent all day Tuesday (and Monday evening) working with the help of Deb (Steven's mom) and Jennifer (Steven's sister) on a home improvement-type project in her kitchen. :-) I won't get into the specifics of it, but it was right up my organizational alley! Steven spent all day at the tool shed building our entertainment stand. We finally returned home late Tuesday night.

That allowed us to finally relax and put our feet up for New Year's! It was our first new year's together, and there was something very perfect about watching the ball drop in our pj's, just him and I. It was nice after the chaotic week we'd had.

Between the two of us, we have spent the last couple days catching up on life, finishing the TV stand, going in to work, etc.

We hope everyone had a very safe and fulfilling holiday season with your loved ones!

For the concerned regular readers, I will try to write again before Valentine's Day. :-)
