New job!

So here's the deal... I had been actively looking for an alternative teaching position for a number of reasons; bottom line: It was time for a change.

I actually received some calls while in D.C. wanting to interview, and I had a nice interview the DAY I flew back in to Indy. It was all very rushed, but where's the thrill in having time to sit around and plan? :-) Long story short, I got the job!

The school is much more diverse, which is something I was looking for, and the administration is so supportive and totally there for the students. THAT'S what I've been needing in my life.

I'm still teaching math, but I am an off-team teacher, so I have everyone else's kids. It's very different, but I'm learning so much more than I would have if I had stayed where I was. I have two sections of honors sixth graders, two sections of eighth grade Pre-Algebra, one section of a math lab-type class, and one section of eighth grade Algebra.

I really love everything the district, the school, the association, and the teachers stand for, and I'm really fortunate to have ended up in such a student-centered place!!! :-)

...oh yeah...and I have windows!!!!!!!!!!
