Beginnings and Ends

There are lots of changes taking place in the Curtis household lately!

We are wrapping up some much needed items very soon:  our school years!!!  Our fifth year is almost down, and it couldn't come soon enough.  I'll be in the same position next year (for half the year anyway), while Steven will have a course load change within his school.  Specifics on that are still being ironed out.  One thing that is going to help the rest of the year go by quickly for me is that I'll be taking a little vacay to Philadelphia this week for the national math teachers' conference.  BE JEALOUS!  It's totally as nerdy as it sounds, but I am super excited.

Another much-needed wrap-up for me is my grad class coming to a close this semester.  It was a mathematical technology class and was by far the hardest I have ever worked in a college course in my LIFE!  It was easily ten hours of work each week, and that was just to get the assignments done, not necessarily done really well.  I am very excited to have my weekends back to myself!

Steven started in an adult, co-ed, recreational, slow pitch softball league last weekend with some people from his work.  Since it's very non-competitive, the games are kind of a riot to watch because everyone's very funny, and those that take it seriously are quite hysterical for taking it too seriously.  It's fun all-around!  They won their first game in a hard fought battle, but unfortunately lost today.  I'm not sure when the "mercy rule" gets enacted, but there was definitely no pity taken on his team today.  Two points were scored, and you already know one of those came from my stud of a husband.

He's so handsome when he's at bat.  :-)

And the ongoing, super-exciting new beginning is Baby Girl Curtis!!  Last week, we officially crossed the halfway there threshold.  Baby Girl celebrated Easter by moving and shaking the heck out of my uterus at Easter service with Steven's family.  I felt her move for the very first time while sitting in church, and it was so startling and exciting!  She's been moving like crazy ever since!

I had to go to the hospital on Tuesday for a severe sharp pain in my right pelvic area that shot all the way through me to my back.  Long story short, I'm not in pain now, and they couldn't diagnose it.  They gave me painkillers to subdue it and told me to come back to the hospital when the pain does so that they can run more tests.  (Liz have undiagnosable pain??  No, I don't believe it!)  Anyway, my cutie Daddio came to spend the day with me at the hospital, where she was still moving and shaking.  She was bouncing around so much that she was making the contraction monitor around my belly bounce, so I called Dad over and he felt her move, too!  AAaaaahhhhH!  So amazing!  Steven was slightly jealous that he didn't get to feel her, too, but she was so busy that day that he felt her that evening.

We also worked on our registry a bit this weekend; it's definitely being done in stages.  If anyone out there has free time to check it out and make recommendations about what we have or if there is something better, feel free!  We would love any and all advice!  Feel free to message on here or facebook.

God bless and GOOD NIGHT!!!!!
