Here comes Peter Cottontail

Hoppin down the Baby trail
Hippity hoppity
A baby's on its way!

We found out at the end of spring break, right before Easter, what gender of baby the stork was going to bring us in a few months!  We had a cute plan to reveal the gender to each of our parents.

We spent Easter with Steven's family and chose to spice up the Easter egg hunt a bit.  We decided to sparkle 25 "baby eggs," thirteen of blue or pink and twelve of the other color.  Once all the eggs were hidden outside, in addition to the regular batch with candy/prizes, we revealed that we had in fact been to the OB for the ultrasound and the eggs would reveal the gender!  Watch out, little kids, Deb is coming through!!!!!!!!  She definitely didn't wait for our niece and nephew to find all those eggs; she was a woman on a mission!  It was quite cute and hilarious.

After a long search and many re-counts, she could only come up with twelve blue and twelve pink.  Everyone else was in on the joke at this point that Steven was holding the 25th egg in his pocket, which contained a bunch of nested eggs and a little bunny to finally reveal the gender.  The range of emotions is classic, and it was all captured in the video below.  (We don't have a program to rotate, but it did rotate on my facebook page.)

The day after we found out, we had Dad over for dinner to surprise him with the news!  (He also didn't know that we were even going in for the ultrasound!)  We had a bunch of pink grass nests with pink eggs randomly located throughout the house.  Our plan was to not say anything...just see how long it took him!

Quite surprisingly, it took him about twenty seconds!

Just in case it didn't click right away, we even had a nest ready for him on his bathroom break.  :-)

This has all been such a roller coaster, but we are ready to sit back and enjoy the ride for once!  We thought all along that it was going to be a boy, so it's only fitting that God and Mom prove us wrong by sending us a beautiful baby girl.  We are beyond excited and can't wait to start planning...sans pink!  :-)
