Last night, Steven and I were invited to an evening surrounding the musical Spring Awakening in Indy with Dad and Keith. The guys hosted a FANTASTIC pre-party at their condo before the show. It was fun for me because I got to meet a lot of the people that Dad always talks about, but now I actually have faces to go with the names! The turnout was great; the food was great; the WINE was great! It was all a lot of fun, even though it wasn't my normal crowd...this group mostly consisted of people much..........more mature (as my new friend, Clint, so PC described).
The party was so fun that it was hard to get everyone out to make it to the show on time. We were the last ones to leave the condo, but the fact that Dad and Keith are gracious hosts had nothing to do with it: A friend of the guys opted to ride to the theater with us, and as we were quickly making our way to the elevator, she took a very nasty tumble, kissing the carpet with all of her face, busting her nose, almost breaking her arm, and the worst part of all: she spilled her full glass of wine.
After the EMTs checked her out, and the blood was cleaned out of her hair, we continued on our merry way and made it just in time for the show. The friend is a very well-known radio and paper critic, so I'm sure she either gave an exciting review of the evening or one which doesn't necessitate repeating.
As the show started, I was immediately blown away by the caliber of the local talent. All of their voices were FANTASTIC! If you are in the Indy area, I would strongly suggest visiting the Phoenix Theater to check this show out!
After the show, we swung by Mesh (duh!) for some dessert and a night cap. What a fun evening!!!!!!
